The hotel itself is a villa built in the 18th century. The building and garden may have been beautiful and very exclusive quite a few years ago. These pictures are still up on the booking.com pictures, but they are not like that today, so if we look at it we felt a little deceived. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of staff, possibly a lack of capital for renovation and maintenance. Most of the fountains and parkland in the park area are not operated at all, they are filled with dirty water and there is garbage in several places, though it could be a dazzling park. The pool and surroundings are super. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is very poor, not too fresh, which would be offset if the bread, vegetables and fruits were cut aesthetically more beautifully. We were completely satisfied with our room, which was big, comfortable, clean. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open, there is no lunch or dinner, and several huge rooms are empty and it would be wonderful to have a restaurant. We went to nearby restaurants to eat, we ate incredibly delicious pizzas at the Ro.Vi pizzeria. All in all, value for money is definitely worth booking here and we had a great time, we spent 4 nights here with our toddler.

The hotel is an oasis of calm, just a short walk away from the archaeological site of Herculaneum and just slightly away from the main hustle and bustle of the town. My room had a great sea view and was very large with a high ceiling and the longest curtains I have ever seen. Breakfast was good, not exceptional but varied enough to be enjoyable for the three nights I stayed. The hotel has lovely grounds to walk or sit in with fountains and statues, it was a pleasure to have a little sit and a wander around the gardens in the evening

The location is perfect for visiting Herculaneum (just a few minutes walk) and about 10 minutes to the train station. The grand old building is beautiful and the gardens extremely well maintained. Inside is a little dated but we quite liked that. And the pool was perfect after a hot day sightseeing! We visited in early September and there were only a few other guests staying so we pretty much had the place to ourselves!

- The breakfast has a a wide variety of cold meals and You can take it on a nice terrace as well - The wild and historic park of the hotel is a kind of oasis especially compared with the surrounding streets including a well separated private parking and pool area as well - The staff is very kind and helpful - Sub-urban train station to reach Naples, Sorrento or Pompeii is within walking distance and also vulcan tours are available from the station by bus

Miglio D'Oro is in the former Villa Aprile, built in the second half of the eighteenth century, when wealthy Dukes from Naples were building palazzos in this area. It's totally renovated now, but it was such a treat to stay in a former villa, which is a huge building, with tall ceilings, incredible views, and large casement windows overlooking the Bay of Naples and the Sorrento Peninsula. It amazes me that the extensive grounds behind the villa have survived all the changes and not been developed into something else. The fountain with the statue is beautiful and there are other features as well besides orange and lemon trees and a grotto area that I never figured out what it was originally. It wasn't warm enough to eat on the terrace when I was there but I imagine you can when it's warmer. The bathroom was huge. I was very comfortable and felt lucky to be staying there. I had to get up and check out the view every so often because it was so beautiful. The windows really open so you can get a good breeze as the day warmed up. The Miglio D'Oro is an 11 minutes walk from the train station and five minutes from Herculaneum (note-now closed on Wednesdays). There are two excellent restaurants just a few minutes away, Viva Lo Re (upscale dining) and Tubba Cattuba (great food but more typical). Also the recently renovated Villa Campolieto is within walking distance and an absolutely gorgeous building which I highly recommend visiting. Most of the remaining palazzos have been turned into apartments or in one case, a municipal building, and have only fading exteriors plus signs, but I enjoyed walking past them. It was a great experience staying at the Miglio D'Oro. I highly recommend it. The general area is a mix of apartment buildings, small orchards, greenhouses, and light industrial use (such as a car repair shop). I also walked to a black sand beach.

Wonderful high ceiling rooms in this Palazzo with scenic setting to rear, steps from Ercolani Scavi ruins and 10mins from train station. Elegant, old world, a bit dated but in a good way. Huge bathroom, excellent breakfast and staff couldn't do enough for you. Looked a great event and wedding venue especially when swimming pool open and summer, romantic getaway place also.

The external grounds and pool, the size of the room and the proximity to the attraction that we were visiting - Herculaneum

The staff is amazing. They are always trying to make you feel welcome and they try to fix any problem you may have. There was a mistake with our reservation and they went above and beyond what was needed to make it better. The deluxe bedroom is very beautiful, with comfortable bed and nice decoration, huge bathroom! I suggest you reserve this room.

We needed a hotel with 24 hour check in because our EasyJet flight was due to arrive in Naples at 10:40pm. Flight was 2 hours late so we arrived at hotel at 2am. A kind gentleman was at reception waiting to check us in. So grateful! Also the building and grounds and views are stunning!
